[00:00:00] Hello, gorgeous. It's Aminata here. And I am so excited to share with you this episode on winter rest. We've had snow, we've had a lot of rain. It is so gray out today where I live in the Northeast. And I have to tell you, My body just wants to rest and then rest a little more and then rest a little more.
And it is the perfect time of year to go with what your body wants. You do not need to choose alcohol, caffeine, any other substances to quote unquote pep yourself up for the holiday season. Instead, you could do something deeply restful, take a yoga nidra or listen to this episode where you're going to hear me guide you through a body scan that is all based on deeply resting.
For 15 minutes. So I'm really [00:01:00] excited to share this this winter rest soundtrack with you, which features the violin played by my beloved Michael Jamanis and a guided meditation to help you let down and come to rest. But before we get there, I want to encourage you during this Winter solstice season to receive first, how they say on the airplane, put on your mask before you try to help someone else with their mask.
I think it's really important when we have these super high expectations, time of year where there's a lot of travel, family care, family drama last quarter of business. We can really get drained. And not show up in the way we want to show up. So in order to do that, we need to receive first and you as a sovereign, gorgeous, grown ass woman, [00:02:00] or the person can receive.
You are in charge of receiving. How do you do that? It can be very simple. It can be as simple as just taking a moment to let yourself feel the sun on your cheeks or to look up at the night sky. Take yourself on a walk, look up at the stars outside and say, thank you.
It could be investing in a retreat. I would love for you to join us on our winter solstice soul journey, where you spend an hour and a half each day over a long weekend, giving to yourself, receiving from the universe, from your ancestors, from nature, so that you can emerge from the winter solstice. Which is on December 21st this year, so you can emerge more grounded, more whole, more ready to take on the challenges of 2025.
And we all know they're going to be [00:03:00] challenges in 2025. So my main message to you for this winter solstice season is to receive first and to help you do that, I actually have a beautiful freebie Google doc handout that is really cute and that gives you a list of items that you'll need if you want to observe the winter solstice and a list of curated resources links.
For music, meditations other kinds of teachings that you can use during this period of winter to help you go within and rest and refresh. So just go to my website, Dr. AmandaKemp. com and you will see a link there for the winter solstice resources. Now, without further ado, gorgeous, I'm sending you to a winter's rest.
Enjoy, and I'll see you on the other side.
